The Barossa Valley is South Australia's best known wine region and home to the largest wine companies in Australia. Travel through the Torrens Gorge enroute to the valley and visit leading wineries such as Rockfords, Grant Burge and Henschke. Your tour will be personally escorted and private, so your itinerary can accommodate your own special interests or seasonal highlights.

Begin your personally escorted journey with a city orientation tour of Adelaide. Enroute to the Barossa Valley, travel through the scenic Torrens Gorge, a natural chasm carved out of the Adelaide Hills by the River Torrens. If time permits, you may also stop at the Lyndoch bakery to taste the best of the fine German pastries.

Travel over the Jacobs Creek for a tasting of the fine wines at the Grant Burge Winery. Visit the Rockford wine cellars, a small winery with rustic charm, making wines in traditional Barossa methods. Stop for a stroll in the German town of Tanunda, with time to discover the small shops, many of which specialize in crafts made by the locals. Lunch will be alfresco under the vines or at the new Vintners Restaurant just out of Angaston.

After lunch enjoy the picturesque drive up to Menglers Hill for an unsurpassed view over the entire valley. Explore historic Angaston - the more English of villages in the Barossa, and take some time to visit the South Australian Company store specializing in fine locally made products.

Next stop is the Henschkes Winery in Keyneton. This fifth generation German winery produces world class, outstanding wines that incorporate the best of old world and state of the art winemaking. The winemakers, Stephen and Prue Henschke, were recently awarded International Winemaker of the Year.

The afternoon takes you to small boutique producers such as Charles Melton or Turkey Flat, or maybe a formal premium wine tasting at Penfolds (additional cost), or even visiting Maggie Beere Farm shop. Alternatively, continue through the picturesque villages of Hills as you travel to Hahndorf, the German village where you can taste products from the Woodside Cheese Wrights and the fine wines produced by Hillstowe wines.

As your tour will be personally escorted and private - your itinerary can change to accommodate your own special interests or seasonal highlights. The choice is yours!
