Best of the Big Island

Your day will start in Hilo at the beautiful Japanese Gardens named after Queen Lili'uokalani. Here you can enjoy an awesome view of Mauna Kea, one of the worlds tallest mountains, and a gorgeous view of the Hamakua coast. From here the tour will drive you south to begin your ascent to Volcanoes National Park. On our way you will experience the beauty of the Big Island's plants, trees, and ferns. Once in the park we visit the Sulfur Banks, the Steam Vents, the Jagger (volcano) Museum, Halema'uma'u Crater, Thurston Lava Tube, and Kilauea Iki Crater. Next stop is the Orchid garden where you will experience the beauty of countless varieties of our home grown wonders. Then to the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Farm where you can sample our famed delicacy in all it's variety. When the factory is in operation you can witness the complex operation through viewing stations. You can also stroll the farm's beautiful nature trail. Then to downtown Hilo, where you will experience the charm of this historic town. Our next stop is the fabulous Rainbow Falls whose 89 foot high cascade hides a sacred cave. Just above Rainbow Falls you can explore under the huge canopy of a beautiful banyan tree that always leaves her guests in awe, and a lagoon on the river to the falls that has become a very popular attraction. The tour will then proceed up the Hamakua Coast where you will experience the lush green beauty that Hawaii is famed for. Visit a popular surf hotspot where you can witness some of our islands best surfers at play, historic bridges and waterfalls. Then travel through the famous 4 mile scenic route where you will be amazed at the variety of Hawaii's exotic plants and flowers. And then visit the beautiful 442 foot waterfall Akaka Falls.
