Showcasing some of the most magnificent gifts of nature, the island of Tahiti is an open air cinema of splendid mountain peaks reaching over dense rainforests of soft ferns. Waterfalls cascading into cool rivers and streams and coastal areas filled with fields of taro and tropical flowers. Visit some of Tahiti's most amazing attractions like One Tree Hill, Point Venus, the Arahoho Blow Hole where you can enjoy a cool shower of sea water under the fiery Tahitian sun and the James Norman Hall Musuem.

Discover the east coast of Tahiti with a first stop at the "ONE TREE HILL" named by the early navigators because of the conspicuous tree which served as a landmark to enter the pass leading to Matavai Bay. Once here, admire the magnificent view of Moorea.

The "POINT VENUS" and the Matavai Bay are of great historical significance and a fine place for a rest stop. This area has all natural amenities, shady trees, a river, beach and exposure to cooling trade winds. In the early days of Tahiti, this tiny point of land was used by some of the most important visitors of that area, captains Wallis, Cook and Blight. Until 1820's, when Papeete became a more popular port of call, all visiting ships anchored in this area. It was Captain Cook's expedition in 1769 that gave the land its name. He was sent by the Royal Geographical society to record the transit of Venus across the face of the sun.

The Arahoho "BLOW HOLE" is one of Tahiti's biggest roadside attractions. It's unmarked and located at the base of a steep cliff on a narrow shoulder on the mountain side of the road. Over countless years, battering surf has undercut the basalt shoreline and eroded a passage to the surface beneath the road. When waves crash against the rocks, the result is a geyser-like plum of sea water that showers on lookers.

Visit James Norman Hall Museum, a beautiful museum dedicated to American writer, James Norman Hall, author of the legendary best seller "Mutiny on the Bounty". Feel the ambience of the charming colonial-style house and learn about the fantastic life of her owner.
