D-Day Tour: Normandy Battlefields and Landing Beaches by Minivan

On June 6th, 1944, Normandy made its mark in history and became the battle ground of the greatest military operation of all times. Today you will visit important sites such as the American cemetery, Juno Beach, Omaha Beach and Arromanches.

On this D-Day Tour of the Normandy Battlefields and Landing Beaches, you will visit the American Cemetery in Coleville, Arromanches and the beaches of Omaha and Juno.

Travel through Normandy as far as the Pointe du Hoc, well-known for the assault of the heroic Rangers. You will have free time here to explore the area before heading to the American Cemetery.

The American Cemetery in Coleville contains the graves of 9386 soldiers and makes for an emotional visit. A new visitor centre was created in 2007 to commemorate the operations of June 6, 1944. You will also discover the bloody “Omaha Beach” and have time to spend some moments on it before lunch at the Ferme de la Ranconniere in the village of Crepon.

In the early afternoon, you will see the ruins of the Arromanches' artificial harbour. You will then have the opportunity to see the film "The price of Freedom" at the cinema Arromanches 360. The film is shown on 9 screens in a circular room and combine library shots taken in June 1944 by war correspondents together with current shots in the same places where peace has been restored.

Continue along the coasts of Gold and arrive at Juno Beach for a guided visit to explore the remains of the Atlantic Wall before returning to Paris.
