Full Day Tour to Santiago de Compostela

This route will follow the footsteps of crusades and pilgrims towards Santiago de Compostela. On the way you will visit the Romanesque church of Cambre, devotion place from the 10th century. Still following their traces and before arriving in Santiago a visit to the Monte do Gozo will be made.
This tour is seasonal and operates from mid July to mid September only.

Stop in Cambre. Located on the English Pilgrim Way, the church of Santa Maria, founded already in the 10th century, is one of the best examples of pilgrimage Romanesque style in Galicia.

Drive to Santiago de Compostela by motorway and from Monte do Gozo (Mount of Joy) get the pilgrims first view of the towers of the magnificent cathedral of St. James.

Santiago de Compostela is a religious and cultural center since the bishop Teodomiro discovered the tomb of the Apostle St. James in the 9th Century.

Visit the historic old city, including the Romanesque cathedral and other outstanding buildings such as the Pazo de Fonseca and the Hostal de los Reyes Catolicos. Walk along its medieval squares and streets.

Visit Pobo Galego Museum which exhibits tools, gears, boats, etc. Also standing out are the small traditional houses models, very expressive and intricate details. The building itself is an ancient Dominican convent from the 17th century.
