Your personalized plate is yours to keep at the end of class. Founded in 1821, Gien has been making fine tin-glazed dinnerware for generations. The company originated in the small town of Gien in central France, but has established a major workshop in the heart of Paris. Today, it's widely considered the finest faience manufacturer in Europe.
Learn the techniques that go into painting this beautiful dinnerware — a delicate craft mastered over the centuries. Peruse the workshop’s selection of painted faience patterns, and browse a collection of books for inspiration. Once you’ve settled on your design of choice, take your plate and set to work creating your own design under the guidance of your instructor. If the idea of starting from scratch is a little daunting, you can decorate a plate with a pre-filled pattern.
After two hours of working on your craft, stamp your plate with the prestigious ‘Gien, made in France’ seal and keep it as a souvenir. You'll also take home an additional Gien gift.
