Morning Colorado River Rafting

The rapids on Colorado River are big enough to make you howl, and the scenery is the best in the West! Relax as you enjoy some swimming, history and entertainment on this fantastic morning adventure.
This tour is seasonal and operates from 15 April to 15 October only.

This is a great trip for families, and for those accustomed to white water. The scenic splendor punctuates this relaxing, splashy coolness, making this half day expedition memorable.

You will be driven 26 miles up river from Moab along a bi-way of beautiful red rock canyons. Across from the Fisher Towers, the oar rafts will be launched. There will be a safety orientation before you set out.

The morning's expedition includes photogenic vistas of Fisher Towers, Professor Valley and wonderful rock formations such as the "Nuns and the Priest", and "Castle Rock". This region is the location of many films including John Wayne's western movies "Fort Apache" and "Rio Grand" and more recently, "City Slickers II" and "Larger than Life". The rapids challenge your expert guides who maneuver them skillfully to provide fun and excitement for all.

After a while, towering canyon walls rise up on both sides of the sun-dappled river carved by the ancient forces of wind and water. Your naturalist guide will recount fascinating and humorous stories, entertaining you with history, geology, plant and animal lore, sharing their knowledge, enthusiasm and a sense of play.

The schedule is leisurely and there is time for swimming (life jackets remain on), water fights between rafts and a thrilling ride through the final rapids to end a perfect morning on the Colorado River.
