Long description: Your day starts with morning pickup from your hotel or the Hilo airport on the Big Island. Meet your guide and travel in style and comfort by air-conditioned private vehicle, with the ability to customize your private tour by staying longer at your favorite sites.

Begin your day in Hilo with a drive through historic downtown Hilo to Wailuku River State Park to view the majestic Rainbow Falls, well known for the early morning rainbow cast in the mist of the waterfall.

Continue north along the coastline to Akaka Falls State Park. Your guide takes you on an easy 15-minute hike to two gorgeous waterfalls. Walk a paved path that winds through lush rainforest with wild orchids, bamboo and ferns to the 100-foot-high (30-meter) Kahuna Falls. Just around the bend, marvel at Akaka Falls, which tumbles 442 feet (135 meters) into a stream-carved gorge.

After seeing the waterfalls, hop back in your private car for a drive up the coast to the Waipio Valley lookout. Take in stunning views of the Waipio Valley's sheer 2,000-foot (610-meter) cliffs and stretches of black sand beach. The valley was sacred to Hawaiian royalty and featured in many Hawaiian legends and folklore.

Next get a good look at the ranches, cowboys and cattle of paniolo country as you travel through Waimea and on to the South Kona coffee belt corridor. Stop for a refreshing break while tasting 100% pure Kona coffee and a take a guided tour of a locally owned and operated farm that has been in production since 1850.

Head south around the island, through the southernmost town in the United States and make a stop at the beautiful Punalu'u black sand beach where you will find Hawaiian green sea turtles basking in the sun or feeding along the shoreline.

Culminate your day with a visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park with a visit to the active Kilauea volcano where lava is brewing just below the crater floor. Take a short walk through the rainforest, step inside a 500 year old lava tube and feel the heat from volcanic steam vents as you explore the wonders of one of the world's most active volcanoes.

Throughout your tour, hear informative commentary about the sights and history of Hawaii. Your guide provides snacks and bottled water, and recommends local restaurants where you can purchase a delicious lunch. At the end of your tour, your guide returns you to your hotel.
