Are you a gourmet? Like to discover the wonders of Italian excellence? Then this tour is for you. Strolling among the most beautiful streets of Florence, you'll get to order truffles, foie gras, outstanding extra virgin olive oil accompanied by Chianti, and prosecco reserves Antinori. The surprise will be at the end, when your personal chef will open her house to delight you with a gourmet dinner of truffle, olive oil and lots of good wine.In Italy there are many different kinds of "gold": a " green", a "black", and a "white" gold, and what is more interesting is that you can eat them all. On this tour, you'll be experiencing the extra virgin olive oil (the green gold) and truffles (black or white gold).
The walking-tasting tour and dinner was planned and organized by tour guides (with a PhD in art history) and a professional chef (with a PhD in archeology and evolution of food) to guarantee quality, professionalism and excellence.
You will experience the truffle's intense flavor and taste while discovering the ways to find it among the regions of Italy where they generally grow. You will learn that truffle is not a mushroom, but is actually a fantastic tuber that you shouldn't find everywhere and it's impossible to cultivate (hence the reason why they are so rare and expensive).
The tour starts from Piazza Santa Maria Novella, one of the most beautiful churches of Florence; the group will meet in front of the church, and the foodies experience will start with a little wine tasting (Chianti or Carmignano) and two bruschetta: with black truffle and with specialties like sun-dry tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil.
Later on, you will walk along one of the most elegant streets of Florence, known as the fashion district, visiting an historical shop opened in 1885. In this elegant location, you will taste the famous truffle sandwich while drinking a fresh and sparkling Prosecco Antinori. The little, delicious sandwich is filled with a sauce made with white truffle, salt, pepper. This historical shop offers so many goodies that included in the tour is a second great tasting choice for you including foie gras or wild salmon.
After this intense tasting, you will get to walk across the Arno river where you can stop on a bridge for a fantastic shoot of Ponte Vecchio before you discover another kind of gold in the heart of the Oltrarno district. In the spaces in a historic Palazzo is a refined and charming "shop-oil" where you will discover the third gold....the extra virgin olive oil, a very healthy and precious liquid. You will be informed about many different kind of olive oils in Italy, together with the fabulous features of the EVO having some delicious tastings.
The tour will end by Chef Vary, the amazing chef who will welcome you to her home. Here you will experience a superb dinner, where your 5 senses will exult all together.
