The South Coast Track from Melaleuca in Tasmania's south-west corner to Cockle Creek on the edge of the settled south-east will take you on a magnificent journey through World Heritage wilderness.
The track is approximately eighty kilometers (fifty miles) long. Along the way it passes through stands of wet rainforest, along many golden beaches, over coastal ranges and headlands and beside quiet lagoons. Your flight into Melaleuca is an added bonus enabling you on a clear day to see all of what makes south-west Tasmania so special.

By allowing nine days for the trip you have ample time to appreciate the special points of interest along the way. Your schedule includes one complete rest day and four to five half days to spend on side trips, fishing, swimming or just relaxing around the camp. A highlight of the trip is the sense of group identity that develops from spending nine days together with a small group and virtually no outside contact.
