This tour is definitely a MUST DO for any true eco-tourist!  Just 5 minutes from bustling Gulf Shores, the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge Kayak Tour immerses you in a coastal wilderness!  Explore the many inlets and canals of the northern BSNWR, a 7000 acre wildlife habitat for migratory birds, nesting sea turtles and the endangered Alabama beach mouse.  Named as one of the 10 natural wonders of Alabama.  The refuge serves the additional benefit of comprising one of the largest undeveloped parcels of land on the Alabama coast - its dunes are a reminder of the Gulf Coast, as it once existed.

On this tour you will visit a portion of the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge that no driving tourist can reach.  This refuge was established by Congress in 1980 to preserve the coastal dune ecosystem, to protect threatened and endangered species, to provide compatible recreational opportunities, and to serve as a living laboratory for students and scientists,  Regularly and recently observed birds in BSNWR: Red-bellied Woodpecker, Belted King Fisher, Great Blue Heron, Osprey, Blue Jay, Eastern Bluebird, Northern Mockingbird, Northern Cardinal.
