Santo Domingo is the oldest city in America, founded in 1498. From the Colonial Zone, the group will tour the main historic sites: Santa Maria la Menor Cathedral, the National Pantheon and the Columbus Palace, home of the first governor of Santo Domingo, Don Diego Colón. Please note that entrance to the cathedral with shorts and/or sleeveless shirts is not allowed. Please wear appropriate clothing if you would like to visit the cathedral. Enjoy a picturesque, panoramic view of the colonial architecture. Then, the tour will visit the "three eyes" cave: three beautiful, underground lakes surrounded by gardens. Lunch at a local restaurant is included and then, the group will be given a bit of free time for shopping until it is time to return to the hotel.
