Enjoy a morning tour through two of the most iconic districts of Rome, Trastevere and the old Jewish ghetto.
Your tour will begin at Piazza Trilussa from where you will continue to visit the Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of the few remaining Byzantine churches in the city. As you pass through the narrow alleys the tour will lead you to Tiber Island, Isola Tiberina, home to the oldest hospital of the city.
Across the river you will see Portico d'Ottavia, a large temple complex in the the old Jewish ghetto. During the imperial age, the old market was located in the Jewish district. Walking through the small streets of the ghetto, you will experience the beauty of Turtle Fountain, built by Gianlorenzo Bernini, and the Church of San Carlo ai Catinari. Your tour will end at Giordano Bruno’s Square where a modern open-air market is located. Here, you will get a taste of everyday Roman life as you enjoy a typical light Roman lunch, a slice of take-away pizza.
