But not only will we eat our way across the planet, we'll sip our way across the Mission.The Mission District is San Francisco's first neighborhood and is the heart of this vibrant city. It is also quite often the last neighborhood to quiet down at night, if it quiets down at all. This neighborhood is made for food tours because this neighborhood is made for eating out, this neighborhood springs to life around the area's eclectic restaurant and foodie scene.
And what is better than a food tour? A food and drink tour! Where there are restaurants, there are bars, not that the Mission was ever short on bars, mind you, it used to be that you couldn't kick a can without it hitting a neighborhood Irish Bar. Many of the old Irish Bars and Pubs are still here and beloved by locals and visitors alike, cheap drinks, friendly bar staff and clientele, nightly specials and loads of ambiance, how could anyone not love them? But as older neighborhood bars become "Dive Bars" they branch out to attract new customers and many have become live music venues or settled on other ideas to remain current and relevant. Dance clubs pepper the area and newer bars pay homage to the past, with craft-cocktails as their focus, and master mixologists at the helm.
