Once you arrive in Guilin Liangjing International Airport, we will be picked up by your guide and transferred to the Reed Flute Cave. The Reed Flute Cave is located about 5 km northwest of downtown Guilin and it got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside that are used to make flutes. Inside this water-eroded cave, there is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition. Illuminated by colored lighting, the fantastic spectacle is found in many variations along this 240-meter-long cave. Walking through the serried stone pillars, tourists feast their eyes on changing spots, feeling they are in a paradise where the Gods live.
If time permits, you can also visit the Elephant Trunk Hill (close at 18:00) as the symbol of Guilin landscape. Elephant Trunk Hill Park is situated majestically at the southeast of Guilin city and west bank of Li River. The hill has a history of 3.6 hundred million years and it got the unique name because the shape of the hill resembles an elephant leisurely drinking water from the river with its long trunk. Afterwards you will be taken back to your own hotel. Accommodation is not included in the tour.
Day 2: Guilin Lijiang River Cruise [L]
Take the morning Li River Cruise upstream to enjoy the scenery and beautiful surroundings. Enjoy the lunch on-board. Get off the boat at a small village, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit a local family and see the way people live in the area. Then you will continue to ride to Yangshuo and upon arrival your guide will take you to have a walk along the West Street. This is a tiny S-shaped street running through the street which is mainly inhabited by foreigners now, hence its name. The street itself has over 1,400 years of history, when there were only a few grocery stores on the street. Witness the melting-pot of traditional, modern, and foreign culture. Stop by the ‘World’s Biggest Market’ to pick up some souvenirs for friends or family.
Afterwards we will be transferred to your hotel in downtown Yangshuo or Guilin for your onward journey.
