Day 1: Lhasa to Shigatse (No meals)
An English-speaking guide will meet you at the designated location come 9:30am and begin the drive to Gyantse. Along the way, you will pass over the Gampala pass and get a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso. The Lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountain and in the distance you have spectacular views of Holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar, the highest mountain near Lhasa. Then, head westward along the lake and drive towards Gyantse, historically Tibet's third largest city. See the famous Pelkor Monastery, the largest stupa, then continue to Shigatse. Check-in to your hotel and relax for the night upon your arrival.
Overnight: Shigatse
Day 2: Shigatse to Lhasa (B)
Visit the famous Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in the morning, where you will see the largest well-preserved statue of Jamapa. This monastery is the seat of Tibet's second highest incarnation, the Panchen Lama. In the afternoon, begin your 6-hour drive back to Lhasa, where you will be returned to your original meeting point.
