Not scared yet? You will be... Day 1: (Halloween) Bucharest - Snagov Monastery - Brasov - Halloween Party at Dracula's Castle (Bran Castle) - Brasov
Start the day with a panoramic tour of Bucharest and a visit to Snagov Monastery - the burial place of Vlad Dracula. Afterwards we will start our journey to spooky Transylvania. Don't forget to pack your garlic!
Arriving in Brasov, fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains and resplendent with gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture, as well as a wealth of historical attractions, take an afternoon walking tour of one the most visited places in Romania. Highlights include Black Church, the Citadel of Brasov, Ecaterina's Gate, Schei Gate, White Tower, Black Tower, Council Square, City Hall and the Palace of Justice and Rope Street.
Now it's time for the highlight of your Halloween experience: a night tour of the legendary haunted Bran Castle. Bran Castle, otherwise known as Dracula's castle, is the symbol of Transylvania and is surrounded by an aura of mystery and legend. Perched high atop a 200-foot-high rock, Bran Castle owes its fame to its imposing towers and turrets as well as to the myth created from Bram Stocker’s Dracula. After the tour of the castle, settle down to watch a horror movie in the castle. After the movie, watch the Dance of the Dark Fairies and join the spooky after party!
Day 2: Brasov - Sighisoara Citadel - Peles Castle - Bucharest
On the second day, you will visit the amazing UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sighisoara Medieval Citadel which was the birthplace of Vlad Dracula. Sighisoara is one of the few inhabited fortified towns in the world and it provides a splendid example of medieval town planning. Here, all of the elements of the medieval world have been perfectly preserved. This is Vlad Dracula’s birth place! For your lunch we recommend ‘Vlad Dracul’s House’ (own expense), the very place where Dracula was born. In the evening take a walk in the creepiest cemetery in Transylvania. Highlights of the tour include the Clock Tower & History Museum, the Church on the Hill, House of Dracula, the pupils roofed stairways and the German cemetery.
Next, visit Peles Castle, located in Sinaia (44 km from Brasov), it is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful castles in all of Europe. Against the natural backdrop of the beautiful Carpathian Mountains, the castle is a masterpiece of German Renaissance architecture.
Finally, return to Bucharest in the evening where your tour finishes.
