Spend up to 2 hours learning the intricacies of high quality tea production on the Araksa Tea Plantation of Chiang Mai Province. Nestled on a hill near Lisu Lodge, an hour from Chiang Mai, this lush plantation specializes in traditional methods of cultivation and is home to the black aromatic Assam tea.Upon arrival to the Araksa tea plantation, you will be greeted by local staff, who will explain the different processes and methods used to cultivate young tea plants.
After that, the resident tea plucker will lead you to the tea bushes and display how to successfully pluck tea leaves. Collecting a bamboo basket for yourself, you are welcome to join her for a hands-on personal lesson in this traditional process.
From the tea bushes you will be guided to the tea roasting station. Here you can watch a demonstration of the art of making tea by hand all the way from the kneading process through to roasting.
You will be presented with a cup of this delicious Thai beverage and will have a new found appreciation for the flavor of fresh tea.
