A fun 3-day trip combining cycling the quiet back roads of the UNESCO world heritage site of Ha Long Bay and cruising the emerald sea of Vietnam's Gulf of Tonkin, allowing for an exciting exploration of the bay's many islands, national park, salt marsh, and caves.
Discover a whole new side of Vietnam on this 3-day cycling adventure exploring one of the world's most stunning natural wonders. Starting from Red River out of Hanoi city, we cycle through rural villages to the famous UNESCO world heritage site of Ha Long Bay where we finish our riding in the early afternoon and transfer to our overnight in Ha Long city.
We continue our journey by boat and cruise on crystal clear water to beautiful Cat Ba island where we visit one of the world's biosphere reserves, Cat Ba National Park. This unique island is made up of tropical rain forests, coral terraces, sandy beaches, freshwater wetland areas, tidal flats and mangrove forests.
Surrounded by green jungle and beautiful scenery we leisurely ride along the stunning coast to board our boat to a salt marsh and the newly discovered Thien Long cave before heading back to Hanoi.
We cycle a total of 69mi (111km) throughout our trip on a mixture of well-surfaced roads with a few sections of hard packed dirt roads. Our route is designed to take us off the main roads as much as possible, allowing us to explore scenic back roads on the way to all our destinations. An air-conditioned support vehicle will travel behind the group to support us, allowing participants to cycle as much or as little as they like and still enjoy the same views as the rest of the group.
