Enjoy a 3-day tour to see the best highlights of Cusco and Machu Picchu. You will explore Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire and see its important landmarks and culture. Then, you will visit Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and travel back in time feeling the energy of the Incas. Hotels, trains, guides, tickets and breakfast are included.
Day 1: Cusco Arrival and City Tour
Meet a representative at the airport in Cusco and head to your hotel. Rest for some time and then enjoy a guided city tour. See the main surrounding historical Incas landmarks including Q’enko, Cusco Cathedral (Iglesia de Santo Domingo), Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman. You will be taken back to your hotel late in the afternoon. (Any flight arriving before noon will work perfectly, as the Cusco City Tour starts at 1:30pm).
Day 2: Machu Picchu (B)
Early in the morning, you will be transferred to board a train to Aguas Calientes. Once there, you will take a 25-minute bus ride to the world-renowned Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. With a professional guide, you will tour this 15th Century Inca site admiring captivating architecture, scenic views and stone structures that defy modern engineering. Your regional expert guide will give you a thorough history lesson of Machu Picchu focusing on major historic sites including the Sun Temple, Sun Stone and Room of the Three Windows. You will have once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities to capture yourself in one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Then, you have free time to enjoy the natural hot springs of Aguas Calientes known for its healing powers. In the afternoon, a train will take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
Day 3: Departure from Cusco (B)
A representative will take you to the airport and assist you with with baggage and check-in to end a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Peru. (Any departure flight will work, in the case of a flight later than noon a "hotel day use" could be added it, or you can also check out from the hotel in the morning and leave the luggage without extra cost in the hotel storage room to avoid the "hotel day use" fee).
