This 3-day whitewater adventure offers breathtaking views of towering canyon walls, vast meadows of wildflowers, glimpses of wildlife and some of the best whitewater North America has to offer. Between rapids, you’ll spend time exploring the long and colorful history of the canyon. You'll uncover traces of past inhabitants from historic cabins and homesteads to ancient pictographs, with Class III and IV rapids taking you through stunning scenery. It's best to plan on staying in the New Meadows/McCall area the evening before departure. Your guides will coordinate a pre-trip meeting if possible to get your dry bags passed out and to answer any last minute questions.

Day 1: You will be picked up from your hotel at 7am. After a short drive along several reservoirs, your group will arrive at Hells Canyon Dam and prepare to begin the river adventure. The first day starts off with several Class II and III rapids before lunch. After lunch, you'll reach the first of two major Class IVs, Wild Sheep Rapid. Your guides will scout the rapid before running it, and repeat the process at Granite Rapid just a mile downstream. After Granite, you'll drift downstream to camp, arriving in the late afternoon. The camp is already set up, which means your only job is to enjoy the surroundings. You can spend the evening fishing, swimming, hiking, playing bocce ball or simply relaxing. Each night a delicious gourmet meal will be prepared from the river kitchen including delicious entrees, fresh-baked Dutch Oven bread and a decedent dessert.

Days 2-3: These days continue with phenomenal whitewater, calm swimming pools, rich history, great food and fun. Soon enough, you will start slipping into what's known as “river time”: no clocks, no cell phones, no computers, just you and all the time in the world. You can take an optional 1-mile hike up to Suicide Point, where you will see the most spectacular view of the canyon in all its glory. Many of the most iconic photos of Hells Canyon are taken from this vista. For your last day on the river, you can plan on returning to McCall and New Meadows around 5pm.
