On this 3-day excursion into the Sahara offers plenty of opportunities to experience the local life and great scenery. The trip includes a camel ride to see the sunset and sunrise in the desert.Day 1: Fez - Ifrane - Medilt - Merzouga
Depart early from Fez where you begin your ascent. You pass through Ifrane, a winter ski resort in a totally non-Moroccan style built by the French in the 1930s to resemble a Swiss village. You visit the cedar forest in Azrou where you will see monkeys as well. Most of the day will be spent winding your way through the beautiful forests, springs, jagged rock faces and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains. Half way, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt. A town famous for its fossils and rocks. Then, continue towards Merzouga. On the way you will stop for panoramic views to see a huge oasis of palm trees. You will reach Merzouga in the afternoon for dinner and Saharan music.

Day 2: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi
After breakfast, spend approximately half a day in the desert to see the different faces of desert dunes and pass through small villages. You will stop to listen to some Saharan music in El Khamlia. Visit the lake in Merzouga and the oasis. There will be a visit to Rissani including some historic Kasbahs and the market. Have the opportunity to taste the local food. Next, take a 4x4 to the desert. After, rest with some mint tea and the guide and camels will be waiting to carry you across the sandy dunes to Erg Chebbi. Enjoy the beauty of the sunset on the back of a camel and after one hour, you will reach the desert camp to spend the night in a Berber tent. After dinner, watch the stars and stay overnight in the tent.

Day 3: Merzouga - Tafilalte - Fez
In the morning, you can get up early and take a walk over the sand dunes and watch the sunrise. You will take a camel back to the hotel. There will be time to shower and have breakfast before departing towards Fez. Stop for a walk and lunch in a Berber village and continue on the way through mountains and cedar forest where you eventually reach Fez for the end of the tour.
