Embark on this amazing 4-day trip to the Pampas of Bolivia and live a real Amazon adventure. Experience the rich biodiversity, gorgeous landscapes, native cultures and friendly locals that make this region so special. Take a boat ride and see the rare pink dolphins.Day 1 - Flight from La Paz to Rurrenabaque & Arrival at the Amazon Jungle (L/D)
Early flight around 6am from La Paz to Rurrenabaque. Please make your own way from the airport to Rurrenabaque city center and start your adventure there at 8:45 AM. You will travel in a 4x4 Jeep from Rurrenabaque to Santa Rosa, arriving by noon at Santa Rosa. Here you share a traditional Bolivian lunch of hot soup, meat, rice, yucca, vegetables, and fresh fruit. From Santa Rosa, you proceed by boat down the Yacuma River. Keep an eye out for the wildlife. You will arrive at the Jungle Eco-lodge around 4pm. Settle in before heading out again. Just a few minutes down river, you can buy snacks and drinks from a small shack. Once the sun sets over the open expanse of the pampas, you head back to the lodge for dinner. When the sun sets, the pampas wakes up. You will set out in the boat with flashlights in search of the biggest predator of all: caimans. They hunt along the river during the night, eating snakes, fish and the stray bird.

Day 2 - Activities in the Amazon Jungle (B/L/D)
In the morning, you share a hearty meal of eggs, pancakes, pastries, and fresh fruit. After breakfast, you don high rubber boots (to protect against snakebites) and head into the high grass of the pampas in search of anacondas. After a long morning in the sun, you may wish to spend the hottest part of the day swimming in the river (use the rope swing) or lying down for a siesta in the shade. After lunch, you head out for a fishing trip. The catch: piranhas. As evening sets in, you motor back downriver to the small shack from yesterday. Then you head back to the lodge to eat. Typical dinners include rice, lentils, pasta, salads, fresh vegetables, and bread. When you've eaten your fill, your guide joins you to introduce a Bolivian tradition: chewing coco leaves. As night falls, candles will be passed out to invite guests to chat or play cards.

Day 3 - Activities in the Amazon Jungle & Return to Rurrenabaque (B/L)
For those guests who like to get an early start, offered, is a pre-dawn ride a bit downriver. You arrive at an open spot to watch the slow spectacle of sunrise. After breakfast, you set off upriver to a small lake where pink dolphins often congregate to socialize. If you'd like, you're welcome to jump into the water for the unforgettable experience of swimming with these rare animals. The recommended months to see and swim with the dolphins are between December to March. After your swim, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon set off for the return ride to Rurrenabaque, where you'll overnight.

Day 4 - Flight back from Rurrenabaque to La Paz (B)
Today you will make your own way to the airport and take your flight back to La Paz. The flight times depend on the day, but usually there are 4 flights daily: 7:20am, 12:45pm, 4:20pm and 6:25pm.
