This is a unique way to live with the Northeastern Thai's and to truly experience in person what life on the Thai country­side is really like. Life is quiet and easy going and Northeast Thailand is still rarely visited by foreigners. Do not worry to much about about the Thai language barrier as an English-speaking Thai guide will be available throughout your stay and to translate between yourself and the locals.

This tour ends in Phitsanulok and does not return to Khon Kaen.

Itinerary
Day 1 Khon Kaen arrival and village tour [-/-/D]
Afternoon arrival in Khonkaen city (by train approx. 16:20hr or by flight approx. 19:00hr). You will be picked up by our local English speaking guide. A short transfer will take you to your host family in the country village Khampom. Dinner and overnight stay at your Thai host family.

Day 2 Village life and ricefields [B/L/D]
Full day homestay program. The activities depend on the day of the visit. Below a number of activities that can be included. Which activities can be done depends on the season and the particular day of the visit. The order of activities will be determined on the day of the tour by the tourguide, in consult with the clients. Your tourguide will lead you around. The village will be explored by walking.

Experience the “tak bat” morning ceremonial collecting food by the monks

School visit on school days (not possible on Sat + Sun and school holidays)

Village walk and visit the local people at home

Visit local handicraft workshops

Temple visit and talk with the monks

Drive through the surrounding rice fields, opportunity to do farming activities yourself

Buy ingredients at the local market for a evening meal

Prepare your own dinner (host mother explains, guide translates, only for 4 persons or less)

Buddhist blessing ceremony

Free time to explore the village on your own

Day 3 Trekking through National Park [B/-/-]
Breakfast.

After breakfast, depart to one of the nearby located national parks. Which park will be visited depends on the customer’s choice of the National Park. There are 4 nearby national parks to choose from: Phu Wieng (leisure nature walk through light hilly terrain on open sandroads), Phu Kradung (strenuous mountain walk uphill, closed from June - September), Nam Nao (forest walk along creeks) and Tad Ton (leisure stay at the foot of a waterfall, this is a leisure day with no walking or other physical activities). We let the customers make the choice on the evening before. Most of our clients choose Tad Ton National Park. Lunch and dinner are not included this day. Overnight stay at the host family.

Day 4 Khon Kaen-Phitsanuloke [B/L/-]
Breakfast.

After breakfast, depart to Phitsanulok. On route a sightseeing stop will be made in Nam Nao National Park or at the Kaeng Sopha waterfalls in Thung Salaeng Luang National Park.

12:00 Lunch on route. Onward departure to Phitsanulok.

15:00 Arrive in Phitsanulok and transfer to your hotel for checkin. End of tour.
