Iceland’s skies are spectacular, especially from October to April, when the Northern Lights — the Aurora Borealis — make regular appearances.
You’ll spend three nights at the Básar mountain huts in the Thórsmörk Valley. Accommodation is on bunk beds in shared dormitories, and sleeping bags are available at no extra charge. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are included.
The easy-to-moderate hikes are suitable for reasonably fit people. The trek on Day 2 is the toughest, with a medium level of difficulty.
