During this tour, you will travel from Belize City and spend 4 days at San Ignacio, visiting several archaeological sites such as the Tikal Mayan Ruins and Actun Tunichil Muknal. On the last day of the tour you will also be able to enjoy cave tubing before returning to Belize City.
Day 1:

Pick up from your hotel in Belize City or from the Internal Airport. After pick up, you will be driven to San Ignacio.

Day 2:

On this day you will be picked up from your hotel in San Ignacio at 7:30am and will cross the boarder to Guatemala. You will spend the day visiting Tikal Mayan Ruins along with a professional guide. You will return to San Ignacio at the end of the day.

Tikal is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centers of the Maya civilization. It was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. The city has been completely mapped and covered an area greater than 6.2 sq miles that included about 3000 structures. The area around Tikal has been declared as the Tikal National Park and the preserved area covers 220 sq miles.

Day 3:

The day starts with a 45-minute jungle hike that includes three creek crossings and then the entrance to Achtun Tunichil Muknal looms out of the jungle mist inviting the explorer to discover ancient Maya secrets.

You will swim into the ancient Maya underworld and spend the next few hours exploring places known to a very few people. Access to the ATM cave is limited by the Belize Department of Archeology and, unlike other area caves, this one has been largely protected from looting.

The ATM’s secrets include Maya pottery, the full skeleton of a teenage Maya girl now called “The Crystal Maiden”, and other human remains.

The ATM Tour is for the adventurous. The hiking, climbing and swimming can be challenging. Remember though, nothing incredible is ever easy and this trip is incredible!

Day 4:

Cave Tubing. Settle onto your tube and relax as you float under mysterious limestone archways beckoning you into the mouth of centuries old caves holding untold stories of Mayan rituals. The clear mountain water will carry you through these breathtaking formations as you imagine how the ancient Maya enjoyed swimming in the same places. What a great way to beat the heat on a hot Belizean day. At the end of the tour, you will be taken back to Belize City.
