Day 1 – Leave Chongqing
We will meet at Chongqing cruise at 9pm for departure. Option for hotel pickup form your hotel in Chongqing is also available. Relax and stay overnight on the cruise.
Day 2 – Excursion to Fengdu [B,L,D]
Fengdu Ghost City is a tourist attraction featured along the Yangtze River. it is about 170km (110 miles) downstream from Chongqing Municipality on the northern river bank. At Fengdu Ghost City you will learn about the Chinese ghost legends and believes as well as what Chinese call a "model of hell". Fengdu became known as Ghost City in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) when two imperial court officials married and settled on Ming Mountain to practice Taoist teachings. The couples’ surnames combined, Yin and Wang, sounds like 'king of hell' in Chinese and it is said that the couple became immortals. That is where Fengdu City of Ghosts comes from, the theme of hell and ghosts has stayed a part of its culture till today.
Day 3 – Gorges [B,L,D]
Sail through the Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, Shennong Stream and Daning River. We will also bring you to the Three Gorges ship locks.
Day 4 – Arrive at Huang Ling Miao [B]
At 8am you will arrive in Huang Ling Miao and be taken to the Three Gorges Dam. The Three Gorges Dam, the biggest hydro-electric project in the world, was started in 1992 and completed in 2009. Completion of the Three Gorges project will bring benefits in all aspects including flood control, power generation, navigation aquiculture and outperform any other large hydro-power stations in the world. The Three Gorge reservoir features 175 meter normal pool storage level, 39.3 billion m³ in total storage and 22.15 billion m³ in effective flood control capacity. Located on the left and right sides of the overflow dam section, hydro-power stations have 26 hydro-power generating units with 700MW in single unit capacity, 18,200MW in total installed capacity is 84.68KWh in annual power generation.
Afterwards your cruise will end in Yichang where you will disembark. This tour ends in Yichang port and you can also choose the option for hotel drop-off in Yichang. This itinerary and the times on it are subject to change depending on weather and river condition.
