The Trencadís is a type of mosaic made with irregular shards of pottery, marble and/or glass. This technique was widespread in Art Nouveau architecture and Antoni Gaudí took it one one step further giving the pieces their final shape with a hammer and a needle-nose plier. By doing this, the pieces fit together perfectly. Some examples of his works using these technique can be found in Park Güell, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera and Sagrada Família.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to use each tool, choose your design and colours and create your first mosaic work with this technique.

Please take into account that once finished, your artwork will need to dry and later on you will need to apply grouting. If you do a morning workshop you can pick up your mosaic in the afternoon of the same day. If you come in the afternoon, you will be able to pick it up the next day in the morning.
