Venture off-road and explore the rugged mountain trails and secluded bays of Bozburun Peninsula on a full-day tour by convertible 4x4 jeep! After leaving Marmaris, relax as a local guide drives and delve deep into the countryside, enjoying the scenery and stopping to swim and explore. Visit Kızkumu (Maiden’s Beach), Turgut Fall and the idyllic Bayir village, and feast on a BBQ lunch in the town of Turgut. Leave your centrally located Marmaris hotel by open-top 4x4 jeep, and then travel deep into the countryside that surrounds the city. Go off-road to scout out the secluded bays and mountainous peaks that typify the rural landscape, and make the most of the sun beating down on you with the wind in your hair!

After roughly two hours of exploring the countryside, stop for a drink (own expense) and then continue to Kızkumu. Also known as Maiden’s Beach, the shallow-water shore stretches some 1,970 feet (600 meters) along Orhaniye Bay. According to legend, the beach was formed when a maiden tried to flee from local pirates to her lover by creating a causeway across the bay. The sand ran out and she flung herself into the sea rather than give herself up to the pirates. Use your free time to sunbathe, swim or go for a paddle, and look out for the sculpture of the maiden that watches over the beach.

Travel onwards to the historical town of Turgut, known for its production of quality Turkish carpets. Stop for lunch at an outdoor restaurant and enjoy a BBQ meal featuring succulent meat, fish, vegetables and bread. Drinks are available at your own expense.

Continue to Turgut Fall, a lovely waterfall just outside the town that’s surrounded by forests and leafy plants. No higher than 23 feet (7 meters), Turgut Fall is popular nonetheless and its ice-cold pools combined with the fragrant pine forests make it a pleasant spot to escape from Turkey’s midday sun. Swim, go for a paddle, look out for fish or simply sit and drink in the area’s beauty.

From Turgut Fall, travel to Bayir, a village perched high in the hills of Bozburun Peninsula. Have your camera ready to capture incredible views of the peninsula along the way. In the village itself, enjoy roughly half an hour to explore at leisure. Shop for souvenirs or perhaps check out the village’s 2,300-year-old tree; good luck is said to be yours if you walk around it three times. Your day trip then finishes with a hotel drop-off in Marmaris.
