This five-day tour is a spiritual journey full of variety and fun. You will spend two days in Varanasi - a 5,000-year-old city that is most sacred to the Hindus. In Varanasi, take an excursion to Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon, experience the beautiful Hindu religious ritual of worship "aarti" perfomed on the ghats of River Ganga. We will also go to Chitrakoot for the Gupt Godavari Caves and Chitrakoot Falls and to Khajuraho for an elephant safari in the Panna Tiger Reserve. In Khajuraho, you will not only get mesmerized by the light and sound show at the Somnath Mahadev Temple and classical dance Kathak sitar and tabla instruments at Academy of Indian Classical Music, but also meet the former royal family of Ajaigarh for a BBQ dinner!

We will pick you up at your hotel in Varanasi by 6 AM and transfer you to take an early morning boat ride on River Ganges in Varanasi accompanied by your local guide. Return to the hotel for breakfast. At around 9 AM take an excursion to Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. After the excursion return to your hotel for lunch. In late afternoon, visit some of the most beautifully-carved temples of India. Return to you hotel by 6 PM and then see a classical dance performance. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2:
In the early morning, take another boat ride on sacred River Ganga with a slightly different experience and see the burning ghats. Return to your hotel for breakfast and around 10 AM visit the colorful bazaars of Varanasi. See the weavers manufacture exquisite sarees in silk. In the evening, visit the ghats to see aarti, the Hindu traditional religious ritual of worship, being performed. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3:
After breakfast transfer to Chitrakoot around 8 AM (approx. 4 hours). Chitrakoot is an ancient town associated with the life of Lord Ram. We will take you to check in to the hotel for lunch and get some rest. Around 3 PM take an excursion to the Gupt Godavari Caves. These caves are beautifully carved from inside with some small temples within. In the late afternoon, visit the Chitrakoot Falls and take a boat ride around the falls on River Indravati. Be mesmerized by the clouds of droplets hang around you. Return to the town in time to see the aarti being perfomed accompanied with devotional music and songs. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4:
After breakfast at 8 AM take a 200 km drive to Khajuraho with a world-famous 8th-century temple complex. These temples have sensuous stone carvings. The explicit love scenes are graphically depicted as one sees in the Kamsutra. Check in to your hotel at noon and enjoy your lunch. In the evening, visit the temples and later see a light and sound show at the Mahadev Temple with a story about the history of the Chandela kings. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5:
Leave at 7 AM after breakfast for the Panna National Park in Khajuraho. This park has one of the highest number of tigers in the country and also a large population of cheetal, sambhar, nilgai, chinkara, chowsingha, langoor, wildboar and jackal. Experience an elephant ride in the park. Afterwards visit the breathtaking Pandav Water Falls, the gorges and other falls along the course of River Ken. Around 1:30 PM proceed to Ken Lodge jutting inside River Ken for a sumptuous lunch. In the afternoon, visit the museum to see tribal art. Later on drive 60 km to meet the former royal family of Ajaigarh at their beautiful home for a BBQ dinner.

The tour ends in Khajuraho and we will take you back to your hotel in Khajuraho after the tour is concluded.
