Upon arrival at Urumqi Diwopu International Airport, your local guide will pick up you. You can also be picked up at your hotel in Dunhuang. Your guide will transfer you to the hotel for check-in. You can relax for the rest of the day. Overnight in Urumqi Hoi Tak Hotel (5*).
Day 2. Urumqi - Heavenly Lake - Turpan [B]
After breakfast take a ride to Heavenly Lake located in the Heavenly Lake, or called Tianshan in Chinee. In the afternoon, move to Turpan as the lowest, driest, and hottest place in China with well-preserved ancient sites due to the dry weather. Overnight in Turpan Tuha Hotel (5*).
Day 3. Turpan [B, L]
Today you will explore the ancient civilization in Turpan by exploring the Ancient City of Jiaohe, Emin Minaret, Bezklik Grottoes, Karez Irrigation System, Astana Ancient Tombs. Enjoy a special lunch at an Uyghur home. Overnight in Turpan Tuha Hotel (5*).
Day 4. Turpan - Liuyuan (by high-speed train) - Dunhuang [B]
Today take a high-speed train from Turpan to Liuyuan (approx. 4 hours) and then drive from Liuyuan to Dunhuang (approx. 2 hours). Explore the night market where you can buy souvenirs and taste local snacks. Overnight in Dunhuang Hotel (5*).
Day 5. Dunhuang [B]
After breakfast move to Mogao Grttoes where you will watch 2 documentary films about Silk Road and Mogao Grottoes, which will help you understand the history back ground of Dunhuang. Afterwards, follow a profession cave guide to visit the untouched caves with colorful fresco, Buddha statues, paintings and more. In the afternoon, visit the Crescent Spring in the Singding Sand Dues. Although it spring is located in the desert, it is almost a miracle that it is never covered by sand or dried up. Overnight in Dunhuang Hotel (5*).
Day 6. Dunhuang [B]
There is no itinerary for the day. You will be transported to your hotel in Dunhuang or Dunhuang Airport depending on your schedule The tour ends in Dunhuang.
