Day 1: Marrakech - Azilal – Oughbar pass – Ait Abes Valley – Ait Bouguemez valley – Tighza – Agouti – Aazib n’Ait Ikkis
Depart from Marrakech in the morning, drive to Azilal and stop for lunch on the way. Cross the Tizi Oughbar pass at an altitude of 7,283.5 ft (2,220m) and admire the great views on offer of the surrounding mountains (Azourki, Igoudamène and Mgoun). Descend into the valley of Ait Abes and Ait Bougumez before arriving at Agouti 5,741.5 ft (1,750m) to meet your guide. Load the mules and begin the 3-hour ride to Ikkis. Cross the valley of Ait Bougumez and discover the first Berber villages of Ait Said, Artous and the old walnut tree forest. Camp overnight at 7,545.9 ft (2,300m).
Day 2: Aazib n'Ait Ikkis - Tarkeddit pass - Tarkeddit plateau
Start your mule trail to the Tarkeddit pass at 11,482.9 ft (3,500m). Spend three hours making the gradual incline, stopping to admire the view at the neck of the pass. Ride the mules on the descent to the Transhumant plateau, where you may meet local nomads living in the pasture-rich oasis of Saghro in the Dades Valley. Camp overnight on the Tarkeddit plateau at an altitude of 6,233.7 ft (1900m) above sea level.
Day 3: Tarkeddit - Mgoun summit - Ifrin Ait Hammou
Marvel at the early morning sunrise and begin your 5-hour trek for the day. Climb up to the wonderful Mgoun summit 13,346.4 ft (4,068m) before stopping for a picnic lunch. The mules will take you on a shortcut through the pass at 12,467.2 ft (3,800m). Settle into your camp at Ifrin Ait Hammou where you will spend the night.
Day 4: Ifrin Ait Hammou – Ameskar valley – Ameskar Tahtani
After a hard day yesterday, today is more gentle. Wake at around 8am and do a few easy climbs and descents to the picturesque village of Ameskar Fougani and the wide valley dotted with villages. Stop for lunch by a small waterfall and then head to the village of Ameskar Tahtani for the overnight camp.
Day 5: Ameskar Tahtani – Alemdoune – Rose Valley – Hdida Mgoun
Follow the valley and large villages to Alemdoune then Assif el Quati gorges. Have lunch in the Oued Quati, a beautiful traditional kasbah and berber village before entering the famous Valley of Roses, known for its damask rose. Pass through El Hot, Aznag Timstiguit, Ait Said and then spend a peaceful night in Hdida Mgoun in the valley 5,249.3 ft (1,600m) at the end of your day's hiking.
Day 6: Hdida – Rose Valley – Dades Valley – Palmery of Skoura – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast begin your return journey to Marrakech. Pass through Kellat Mgouna and continue to the tranquil Skoura palmery. Have lunch in Ouarzazate and head back to Marrakech through the High Atlas mountains. Your tour ends when you reach Marrakech.
