Explore the rich tradition in the flat “polder land”, along the North Sea coast and in romantic fishing villages during the Northern Tour | Holland. Experience the real 'Dutch feeling' while you cycle along small dreamlike farm villages and picturesque harbourThe Northern Tour will bring you from the capital of Holland along the North Sea coast to the small dreamlike farm villages and picturesque harbour villages along the Ijsselmeer.
On day 1 you will arrive in Amsterdam. During the afternoon you will have the time to explore the city. At approx.. 18h00 there is a short ‘dinner cruise’ to Zaandam.
On day 2 you will have the option to cycle from Zaandam to Alkmaar (31 miles). First you will visit the open air museum Zaanse Schans. In the evening there will be a city walk in Alkmaar.
On day 3 there is a bicycle tour from Alkmaar along the beach to the North Sea. During the evening you can Cross the Marsdiep with your ship to the harbour Oudeschild on the island of Texel**.
On day 4 you will see the largest Dutch island, Texel. You can end the day with a visit to a small beer brewery in Oudeschild. Evening with the ship to Den Oever. Music night on board.
On day 5 there is a cycle tour from Medemblik along the IJsselmeer (former Zuiderzee). In the evening there is a city walking tour.
On day 6 there is a bike tour via the historical town Hoorn and cheese town of Edam to the old fishing harbor of Volendam.
Day 7 is the last cycle day. You can cycle from Volendam to Amsterdam while you explore the hundreds of small lakes and canals and visit a cheese farm. Afternoon and evening in Amsterdam. If you didn’t go for a canal tour on the first day, you will have the opportunity to do it today.
Day 8 is the end of the tour.
After breakfast: disembarkation and end of the tour.
