Cross the peninsula to the gulf of Sagone and follow the coast through pretty little summer resorts, towards the ancient Greek Village of Cargese. Your guide will bring the village to life for you, so learn about the origin of the Greek settlers who arrived in 1676 as you look around.
Continue on towards the Calanches de Piana, a UNESCO World Heritage listed site. With a name deriving from the Corsican word for ‘creek’ or ‘inlet’, this fascinating place is a site of wonder for tourists and budding photographers. Vivid orange and pink rock masses as well as pinnacles of granite plunge into the crystal clear waters of the sea and bizarre rock formations tower up to 300 metres into the air. Look out for the images of animals and figures that are being continuously carved by the elements and have a camera to hand to capture some wonderful memories.
