Your 2pm arrival begins with a welcome orientation and an opportunity to settle into your private forest cabin. Meet other guests at the lakefront garden and enjoy a fresh lemonade and afternoon snack while appreciating the serenity. Before dinner you will meet your C.E.O. (chief experience officer) at the adventure center where you will be able to choose your paddle and Personal Flotation Device (PFD). Once equipped, you will get out on to the water for the first time for an introductory canoeing lesson.

At approximately 6:30pm, your chef will introduce dinner featuring garden fresh, local, and organic food. After your dinner, there will be an Explorer’s Cabin briefing with your trip C.E.O. Guests will have the opportunity to review maps, help plan the Algonquin Park canoe trip route, get the basics on how to pack up and learn what to expect on the journey into Algonquin Park. You will also be provided a bit of background on Algonquin Park and the wildlife you may encounter on our trip.

Day 2:
Your day begins at 8am with breakfast at the Explorer’s Cabin. After breakfast and a final pack-up you will meet at the Turtle Shell Adventure Center for departure by canoe. Most Algonquin Park canoe trips depart from a shallow, sandy beachfront. Some Algonquin Park canoe trips require a short shuttle to the put-in point (depending on the trip logistics).

Day 2-4:
You’ll explore lakes and rivers by canoe discovering wildlife of Algonquin Park. These days feature 2-6 hours of paddling depending on guest interest and ability. Guests enjoy guided hikes and quiet time at waterfalls or beaches too. Sleeping in tents on comfy air mattresses, you'll awaken your spirit feeling closer to nature and the sights and sounds of Algonquin Park wildlife. You'll learn things like how to read maps, tie knots, start a fire, harvest tea from the forest, spot signs of wildlife, even how to pack and set up camp.

Day 4:
Following your canoe trip, return to your nature retreat. Your guide will fetch your keys and your vehicle will be waiting for you right where you left it in a private parking lot. After a homemade snack, grab your “Going home clothes” and enjoy a wood- fired sauna and cleansing shower before packing up your car and heading on your way.
