Discover the charms of Anchorage's historic city center while sharpening your photographic skills. This tour is the perfect way to begin an Alaska trip. It's so much fun you won't know you're learning, and you'll take home the most compelling travel images yet! Your tour departs from Stewart's Photo Shop on 4th Avenue in downtown Anchorage, itself an historic landmark. The tour travels west on 4th Avenue toward Resolution Park, with stops to practice your camera's manual settings on points of interest along the route.

Following Resolution Park, your next stop is Oscar Anderson House at Elderberry Park, where the tour connects with the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Finally, the route loops down to Ship Creek, the birthplace of Anchorage. The total distance is 2 miles.

Guests with manual setting cameras (including smartphone cameras) will learn manual setting basics along the way, including how to set shutter speed for stop action and motion blur effects, and how to control depth of field. Everyone, regardless of camera type, will be coached on creative composition. A historical narrative and information about the area are provided from your guide along the way.
