Meet your guide near Las Ramblas. Once you’ve been kitted out with a bike and helmet, it’s time to get pedaling. Embark on a easy 5.5-mile (9-kilometer) route through the city.
Follow your guide through the narrow and characterful streets of El Born and into Parc de la Ciutadella. This popular park is home to the striking Catalan Parliament building and numerous fountains, sculptures and museums. Take pit stops at major landmarks to rest your feet and hear more from your guide.
Exit the park and cruise past Torre Agbar, Barcelona’s cylindrical skyscraper, whose distinctive shape has divided critics. Cruise through the El Poblenou neighborhood, a formerly industrial area that — along with the surrounding waterfront districts — underwent regeneration during the 1990s in anticipation of the 1992 Summer Olympic Games.
Continue riding along the seafront, hearing more about the history and development of the revamped waterfront area, before reaching the Olympic Village, home to the athletes during the prestigious tournament. Soak up views of some of the city's finest beaches, including the calm residential stretches of Bogatell Beach. As you travel back toward the city, watch the crowds become thicker at the lively stretch of Barceloneta Beach, which boasts a variety of buzzy restaurants and bars.
Your tour concludes back at the departure point in central Barcelona.
