The Center for Birds of Prey offers an intimate encounter with nearly 50 species of birds of prey including eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, kites and vultures. The expertly guided walking tour winds through multiple resident aviaries and provides insight into the lives and adaptations of a variety of raptor species. Following the tour, you can view a flight demonstration with some in flight right over your head! After checking in at the Avian Conservation Center for your 1-hour guided tour, you'll learn about how the Center for Birds of Prey's is a distinctive conservation and educational resource for South Carolina and the surrounding region. Here, they provide avian medical care, research and conservation initiatives as well as STEM education for more than 20,000 individuals and students each year. As one of the premier avian medical facility in the United States, the Avian Conservation Center’s Medical Clinic at the Center for Birds of Prey has treated nearly 7,000 birds of prey and shore birds since opening in 1991 and operates the only permanent oiled bird response facility of its kind on the eastern seaboard.

Your guided walking tour will bring you through the many aviaries on the property and includes a flight demonstration where you'll see these impressive birds take flight.

The Center for Birds of Prey is a 501(c)3 non-profit and your visit provides operational support for the Center's educational, medical, conservation, and research initiatives.
