This is a small group tour, a quite remarkable and original way to discover Tirana, its surroundings and the recent history of Albania and not only. The tour will take you to some non-touristy areas and locations such as farms, former military installments, amazing landscape and exquisite cuisine. This is a travel experience that teaches so much about the local past, the traditions, the nature and the Land of the Eagles.
The tour will start at 8h30 most often, unless we are required to start earlier or later than that. We will come and pick you up at your hotel then drive in the direction of Marikaj (about 15km from Tirana) and we will visit a farm situated in a former antimissile rocket military settlement. We will spend about 1 hour wandering around and visiting the lake, the family activity related to farming and animal farming. We will also try a bit of the local wine (aged in a bunker), raki and cheese.
The tour then continues towards North and we will visit the beach of Lalezi with a really nice sandy beach and amazing small fishermen restaurants. We will spend a couple of hours to eat and swim then drive to Cape Rodoni to visit another settlement of bunkers, built to control the sea and to protect Albania from an eventual attack from the sea. Cape Rodoni is also a nice natural area and hosts a beautiful old church that we will certainly visit. A break to take another swim before driving back to Tirana.
The whole tour would take about 9 hours including driving (in short distances not far from Tirana). Tour can be subject to changes according to season and interest of participants.
