Traveling in a horse-drawn carriage known as a 'calesa,' you’ll also see the sights of Plaza Sugbo and Plaza Parian, and imagine 19th-century life in Old Cebu.
After being picked up from your Cebu hotel, your heritage tour of Old Cebu begins with a visit to historic Fort San Pedro in Independence Park, where your knowledgeable guide will share facts about the Spanish conquest and Spain’s ongoing military presence.

Then step into a traditional horse-drawn carriage known as a calesa for a relaxing ride to Plaza Sugbo at City Hall. Continuing on foot, you’ll take a guided walking tour of Old Cebu’s historic sites, including the famous Magellan’s Cross, planted by the explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. You’ll also enjoy a short walk to Cebu’s two landmark churches, the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño and the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral (the seat of the Archdiocese of Cebu).

After a look around the Museum of Sacred Treasures, take another calesa ride to Plaza Parian, surrounded by the elegant ancestral homes of Spanish and Chinese Filipinos. You’ll also see different eras from Cebu’s history depicted on the bronze Heritage Monument by Filipino artist Eduardo Castillo, and experience the life of 19th-century aristocrats on a visit to the Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House, home of the Casa Gorordo.

Your heritage tour of Old Cebu ends with a scenic coach journey down Colon Street, the country's oldest avenue, before being returned to your hotel.
