Begin the evening with a stroll along the Meguro river to view about 840 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees that sit along the banks of the 2.5 mile (4km) river. You’ll have time to take plenty of photos during your 30-mins walk, as you guide explains the Japanese tradition of hanami, or flower viewing. At this time of year, the trees will be lit up with lights, creating a magical atmosphere, and is definitely a must-see if you have a chance!
Afterwards, you’ll visit a local izakaya which sits along the banks of the Meguro river and serves local delicacies and an all-you-can-drink menu, which is included in the tour. You’ll have a perfect view of the cherry blossoms as you dine, and learn about Japanese culture from your guide. This a great chance to enjoy the way the local Japanese people enjoy the cherry blossoms!
