You will paddle Danė river downstream and have a unique chance to explore the different faces of the city.Klaipėda is third largest city in Lithuaniawith a population of about 160.000 and the only port. Founded on the Danė river mouth and being the gates to the Baltic Sea, Klaipėda is closely related to its waters. It is a unique way to explore the city while following one of its essential paths - Danė river. While paddling down the river, you will see different faces of the city - from green and tranquil suburbs in the northern part to the raw industrial areas. You will end the tour in the historical centre of Klaipėda and have a chance to see some of main sights like old harbour warehouses and iconic sailing boat "Meridianas" on this relaxed paddling tour.
This tour is safe and suitable for beginners. Paddling distance is approx. 7 km. Swimming skills are required and previous paddling experience is not necessary. However we might change our route depending on weather conditions.
The guide will take pictures during the tour and send photos to you afterwards so you don’t need to risk your camera on the water.
Please dress according to the weather conditions and use outdoor clothing including a rain jacket and light footwear if you have a chance. It is recommended to take an extra set of clothes to change after the tour. You can keep them in the dry bags and kayak hatches while paddling.
