We pass through the town of Macroom and then Ballyvourney which is a Gaeltacht village allowing you to experience an area where our native language is spoken fluently. We cross the Cork and Kerry Mountains where the scenery is simply breath-taking and continue on to Kenmare a beautiful market town in the southwest of Ireland, well known for its colourful streets and friendly locals. Here we stop for a coffee or maybe even something stronger.

We take the Mountain route for our first photo stop at ‘Molls Gap’ nestled in the McGillycuddy Reeks with the highest mountain in Ireland ‘Carrantuohill’ by our side. On then to The Country Park in Killarney and we stop again at ‘Ladies View’, this is where we first get to view the spectacular Lakes of Killarney and from such an elevated point this is a photo opportunity not to be missed. On then to The Country Park through the winding roads which bring us down to The Lakes of Killarney through a corridor of Oak, Ash and beech trees where we arrive at ‘Torc Waterfall’ this is 18 metres high and definitely one for the camera. Then we visit ‘Muckross House’ and gardens the once residence of Lord Kenmare, the house and gardens are very well maintained and definitely worth a visit. Just in time then for lunch in Killarney which was voted the number one town to visit in Ireland 2014.
