Spend a beautiful day at Estancia Nibepo Aike which keeps the true spirit and essence of the original Patagonian Estancias. This tour is a perfect way to experience Patagonian rural life including delicious local foods and sheep shearing demonstration (Horseback riding optional), while enjoying the stunning landscapes as Nibepo Aike is one of the few estancias located inside the National Park Los Glaciares.From 8.45am, passengers will be picked up from their hotels and transfered to the Estancia, located inside the National Park Los Glaciares. Guests will be received with mate, tea and coffee with homemade biscuits while enjoying a wonderful view of the Andes.
At 10.50am guests hike towards the south part and shores of the Lake Argentino to discover several outcrops eroded by glacial action and changes in the lake levels. You will walk through an amazing trail through beech forests and ñires, homes to owls, cachañas, hares, woodpeckers, etc.
At 11.30am there will be a demonstration of Creole Horseback riding skills and sheep shearing and at 12:30pm we tour the historical building of the Estancia as the guide retells the history of the Patagonian pioneers, stories and anecdotes of the first settlers.
Lunch is served at 12:45pm. Typical Patagonian lamb barbecue, sausages, fresh salads from the garden. Homemade dessert (pancake with homemade caramel), coffee and tea. After lunch, those who wish can do a horseback riding (optional).
5:45pm we return to Hotels in El Calafate.
