Engage all of your senses in a day with a day trip outside of Shanghai to Zhujiajiao, an ancient water village to get an idea of what Shanghai used to look like back in the day. While there, participate in a tea ceremony, and spend a lazy afternoon in Tianzifang enjoy Shanghai art. After meeting your guide in your hotel lobby, you will start your exciting full-day tour.

We will bring you to Zhujiajiao, an ancient water village in Qingpu District of Shanghai. It is an ancient town that was built on the bank of Dianshan Lake and at the foot of Dianshan Hill within a beautiful scenic area. The village boasts 36 stone bridges and numerous rivers, with many ancient buildings line the riverbanks. There is also a cute little temple called Yuanjin Buddhist Temple, and the Kezhi Garden is worth a visit.

Following your visit to the water village, you will have time to wander along the market street past the shops back to the village entrance. With hundreds of small shop fronts selling local foods, arts and crafts, silk products and pearls, this makes for a complete experience, in all senses of the word. It is also the perfect time to get some souvenirs for friends and family at home.

Your guide will then take you to enjoy a tea ceremony in the oldest tea house in Shanghai. If you thought tea tasting was easy, just watch the intricate processes involved in making the tea – a process that differs for each type of tea.

On your way home, you will enjoy a walk through Tianzifang, an area known for its small craft stores, coffee shops, trendy art studios, French bistros, and narrow alleys. Here, you will see the creative side of Shanghai.

After this, you will be taken back to your hotel.
