Visit the city of Agra and the Taj Mahal during this 15-hour trip from Delhi. Visit the red sandstoned Agra Fort, built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. Roam the Moonlight Garden, with its views of the Taj Mahal on moonlit nights, situated on the left bank of Yamuna opposite to Taj Mahal.Following a 6:30am pickup from your hotel in Delhi, you'll be driven the 3-hours to Agra via the Yamuna Express Highway.  Arrive in Agra, meet your tour guide and head out for some sightseeing.

Visit the Taj Mahal, A UNESCO World Heritage Site. No trip to Agra would be complete without a visit to this shimmering vision of domes and minarets. The world's best-known tomb stands testimony to the timeless love story of the 17th century Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan and his wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal. (Note: the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays)

After the Taj Mahal, visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Agra Fort. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D, this huge fort is made of red sandstone. The elegant buildings inside reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. The maze of the courtyards, mosques and private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire.

Take a lunch break provided at the best local restaurant.

After lunch, you will enjoy photo tour of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh, the Moonlight Garden. The garden is believed to have been designed by Shah Jahan to view the Taj on moonlight nights, far away from the maddening crowd. The garden complex is situated on the left bank of Yamuna opposite to Taj Mahal. It is a huge square measuring approximately 300x300 meters and in straight alignment with the Taj Mahal. The forestry plantations and agricultural fields provide a green forecourt to Taj Mahal and its reflection in Yamuna.

Enjoy some shopping in Agra, known for its fabulous handicrafts made of marble and softstone inlay work. The Mughals were great patrons of arts and crafts. Empress Nur Jahan took personal interest and was an accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work. Agra's major handicraft products besides inlay work are: leather-ware, brass-ware, carpets, jewelry and embroidery work.

After a memorable day, you'll be driven back to Delhi. Arrive by approximately 21:30 and be dropped-off at your hotel or airport.
