After your guide picks you up from your hotel, drive to Old Delhi, situated within the gated walls of Shahjahanabad. Your guide leads your small group on foot through this old capital, founded by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, while you learn about this fascinating part of India’s heritage.

Start your walking tour of Old Delhi at Sisganj Gurdwara, one of the nine historical gurdwaras, or ‘gateways to the guru.’ Located in the old market of Chandni Chowk —meaning ‘moonlit square’ — the site commemorates the martyrdom of Sikh Guru in the 17th century and continues to be a place of workshop for local Sikhs.

Continue with a visit to the nearby Sunehri Masjid, situated outside Delhi Gate — the entrance to the Red Fort. Constructed in the mid-18th century of rarely used salmon-colored stone, the Golden Mosque offers a picturesque photo opportunity.

After a quick stop for Indian sweets and namkeens (savory snacks) at Kanwarji's, a traditional shop (own expense), your guide takes you to explore the hidden wonders of New Delhi’s back lanes. Stroll along Ballimaran Street near Chandni Chowk, where you’ll find plentiful bakeries and a chai (tea) shop.

Meander toward Jama Masjid, built in the mid-1600s as the last architectural wonder of the Mughal Empire. Revel in the glittering bazaars around the mosque that shine on till the wee hours of the morning. From here, you’ll end up at Karim’s to have dinner at the legendary restaurant. Enjoy a delicious meal of savory Indian dishes before your guide drops you off at your hotel.
