Don't miss the chance to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Douro's Valley beautiful scenery! Spend a day strolling along the magnificent Douro River and winding roads! We'll pick you up from your hotel in the morning and travel in a minivan with air-conditioned towards Peso da Régua and Pinhão at the wonderful wine region. You will be amazed with the fantastic and majestic landscapes formed by the vineyards of wine!
The first stop will be in the town of Amarante for a quick coffee just before we start our way up through the mountains and in to the heart of Douro Region!
In direction to Peso da Régua, we will pass along Ferreirinha's house (one of the most famous and oldest producers) and even by the Marquês of Pombal statue, the one that created the famous demarcated region.
With Peso da Régua behind, it's time to go up the hill to have the first wine experience at renowned Quinta Seara d'Ordens, for a guided tour of its facilities and a taste of varied types of wines all of excellent and recognized quality. Seara D'Ordens it's a family vineyard, whose production began in 1993. Since then, the love for wine production and the great technical knowledge are rewarded in the form of medals they earn every year. Be sure then to sample the DOC and Port wines at this wonderful vineyard.
Downhill, we will pass to the south side of the river where recently the National Highway 222 was considered the best road in the world for those who enjoy driving:"World Best Driving Road"! Continuing towards Pinhão prepare to have a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant where you can try the local specialties accompanied with local wine.
After lunch, it's time to have some more tastings! We will visit a traditional olive oil mill museum on which you will learn more about the ancient process of olive oil making and hot press, and have some wine and olive oil tastings from the local and small producer. The view from this point is simply breathtaking.
Heading back on the national 222 beautiful road, it's time to stop at the next vineyard! This eighteenth-century estate vineyard is located in the heart of Portugal’s Alto Douro, surrounded by terraced vineyards, it's a beautiful location near the river to enjoy your next Port tasting
After a whole day strolling through the winding roads of the Douro Valley, relax in the trip back to your hotel to which we'll arrive early evening.
