The sights you’ll see include the Franciscan Monastery, containing a restored sculpture of the Pieta and a gorgeous cloister dating back to the 14th century; the Sponza Palace, which now houses the National Archives; and the Baroque Cathedral of the Assumption, built in the 18th century after an earthquake destroyed the original one.
Then, walk to Dubrovnik’s city walls, which are also a UNESCO World Heritage Site; parts of the wall date from the 13th century.
