This East Coast Explorer tour brings you the best of New England. Setting off from New York you take in 5 states in 8 days, stopping at Plymouth, Cape Cod, Newport, Portland, Portsmout and Boston. You travel through the land where the first european settlers arrived. Solo travellers or groups can join our RV fleet — we’ll match solo travellers and small groups with other like-minded travellers. Each RV comes with its own driver-guide so you can just sit back and enjoy the ride. In addition to driving and maintaining the vehicle, your driver-guide will organize fleet excursions, pub crawls, hikes, and even sort a BBQ for your first night. Start your journey in The Big Apple, where you'll meet your tour manager who take you by Rail to Boston to meet the RV. The regional train toward Massachusetts will have you feeling like a local as you watch the lush New England countryside pass by. Once you arrive to the train station, your tour manager will bring you to your RV, then you're off on the open road.
Day 2: Plymouth, Massachusetts to Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Plymouth was the site of the landing of the Pilgrims on Plymouth Rock in 1620. Lots of American lore comes from this place, including Pocahontas, John Smith, and the first Thanksgiving. Take a step back in time at the Plymouth Plantation, complete with historic actors to help you understand what life was like in Colonial America. When you are finished, hop back in the RV and complete your journey around the Cape Cod horn to one of the most beautiful beach side communities..
Day 3: Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Explore the stunning Cape Cod, where just a narrow strip of sandy land separates the serene bay from the open surf from the Atlantic. Cape Cod has long been a favourite vacation destination, so there are plenty of opportunities for evening entertainment. Spectacular seafood restaurants, drive-in cinemas and busy nightclubs.
Day 4: Cape Cod, Massachusetts to Newport, Rhode Island
Newport was home to the rich and famous during the 1800s, something that left the area speckled with spectacular coastal mansions. Over a dozen of the mansions are now available to tour, giving you insight into a unique aspect of American life.
Day 5: Newport Beach, Rhode Island to Old Orchard Beach, Maine
Today's 4-hour drive will take you to four different states. Snake your way through Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire before arriving in Maine, the tip of America. This stunning coastal drive will bring you some great views and classic New England villages. Finally arriving in Maine, you'll have the chance to try some of their most popular export: Lobster.
Day 6: Old Orchard Beach, Maine to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire
Back down the coast to popular beachside resort town of Hampton Beach, this is the last opportunity to enjoy a day at the beach before we finish our tour tomorrow.
Day 7: Boston, Massachusetts
Onward to Boston, historic home of the Liberty Bell, Fenway Park, Harvard University, Good Will Hunting and much more.
Day 8: Boston
All good things must come to an end. Today you say goodbye to your friends and tour manager and prepare for your next adventure. If you'd like to make your way back to New York, we'd be happy to arrange for a return train ticket — just let us know when making your booking.
